Recommendations for taking care of tires.

Tires are one of the most important safety items on a car. Many safety devices have been added to vehicles in recent years. It is difficult for many of these safety devices to function as designed if the vehicles tires are not in good condition. There are a few things that you can do to insure that your tires are able to give you the best performance and desired life.

Maintain recommended tire pressure at all times

Rotate tires every 3,000 to 5,000 miles

Maintain proper tire alignment

Avoid aggressive driving

Use matched tires

A common question is ”When should I replace my tires?” A tire will always perform the best in the first half of it’s life. Once a tire reaches 4/32 of an inch tread depth it is a good idea to replace the tire. At this point testing has shown that the performance of the tire has greatly diminished.
